Investigation of the Agol Kuh e Chah Bargi Circular Structure in South Khorasan, Iran: No Evidence for Impact Origin
Abstract
The 1.5 km diameter Agol Kuh e Chah Bargi ring structure in E. Iran consists of hornblende diorite intruding Cenozoic rocks. There is no indication whatever for shock metamorphism, and the structure is undeformed, ruling out an impact origin.
