Identifying Photometric and Chromospheric Activity Correlations of Stars in the Kepler Open Clusters
Abstract
We will measure the Ca II H&K emission of members of the 4 open clusters (NGC6866, NGC6811, NGC6819, and NGC6791) in the Kepler field. We will compare the photometric variability of these stars, whose ages range from 0.5 to ~8 Gyr, with chromospheric activity for a range of spectral types in order to determine how this relationship varies with age. We will then assess the impact of this relationship on planetary system detection and evolution.
