Mirror Symmetry of the IBEX Ribbon of Enhanced Neutral Atom (ENA) Flux
Abstract
IBEX all-sky maps of energetic neutral atom (ENA) flux have revealed an extraordinarily circular ribbon of enhanced ENA emission spanning multiple energies. Here, we quantify the circular (rotational) and mirror symmetry of the ribbon ENA emission over nominal energies approximately 0.7 - 4.3 keV. We find a strong mirror symmetry that, at higher energies, are predominantly bilateral lobes of enhanced flux. We find that the symmetry plane is substantially different between low and high energies.
