VizieR Online Data Catalog: Radio galaxies of the local universe (van Velzen+, 2012)
Abstract
The catalog is constructed by matching radio emission of NVSS (1.4GHz, (Cat. VIII/65) ) and SUMSS (843MHz, Cat. VIII/81) to galaxies of the 2MASS Redshift Survey (2MRS, Cat. J/ApJS/199/26) using an image-level algorithm that properly treats the extended structure of radio sources. The sample contains 575 radio-emitting galaxies with a flux greater than 213 mJy at 1.4 GHz or 289 mJy at 843 MHz. Besides this master catalog, we also provide a list of all radio Gaussians that have been matched. We estimate that the expected number of background matches for extended radio sources in our catalog is 11. Most of these random matches can be removed by excluding sources with 'Unknown' morphology (ie, class=='u'). We note that for a few galaxies that are detected in the overlap region between NVSS and SUMSS, the sum of integrated flux at 1.4GHz is too low compared to the sum of the integrated flux at 843MHz (eg, NGC 1316). This happens when the extended emission is resolved out in the NVSS images (the Fsyn column can be used to avoid this complication).
