Preliminary Strategies to Automate Data Quality Control of USArray Transportable Array Stations
Abstract
Currently, the USArray Transportable Array (TA) Network has over 500 stations in the United States that collect real-time data that must be quality controlled before being archived and accessible online for researchers and the general public. Researchers at the Array Network Facility (ANF) are working on methods to automate that quality control process in order to expedite data reporting issues and station servicing requirements. Since full QC automation has not yet been implemented, programs such as MATLAB are being used in conjunction with the ANTELOPE software environment as preliminary measures to identify data outliers and anomalies. Here, we will present successful methods in which MATLAB and ANTELOPE are being utilized to substitue manual quality control for a preliminary approach to full QC-automation of the TA data.
