Nocturnal occultations of Venus
Abstract
For a given place, occultations of Venus by the Moon are rather frequent events, but most of them take place in daylight. From 1801 to the year 2200, there are 80 occultations visible at Greenwich (including those taking place very close to the Sun), but for only 11 of them does immersion and/or emersion occur with the Sun below the horizon.
