Daily Observation at Pvso
Abstract
There is an observation team mostly of students. The Prairie View Solar Observatory has a telescope array including a 35 cm reflector primary telescope which provides an H-alpha solar image, and a 15 cm full solar-disk telescope with a magneto-optical filter that provides a potassium-line image. Currently, the program is supported by NSF-REU with ten students participating and guided by faculty and staff. Each year there are 200 days available for observations in the northwest corridor of Houston, Texas.
