Pulsar Scintillation Arclets Observed at Arecibo with Baseband Recording
Abstract
We have made observations of the pulsar PSR B0834+06 with the Arecibo Observatory using the Mark 5A VLBI recording system. Following the lead of Brisken et al., we have analyzed the data using ultrafine frequency resolution of 250 Hz. We recorded four 16 MHz wide frequency bands. We formed dynamic spectra and secondary spectra in the standard way. Similar to Brisken et al's two-station (Arecibo and Green Bank) recordings, we see remarkably thin inverted arclets in the secondary spectra. We report on shifts in arclet position between the four observing bands and over one week of time, observed at three epochs.
