Cross-Correlation Weak Lensing of Galaxy Clusters in the SDSS Southern Survey Coadd
Abstract
The SDSS Southern Survey is a 300 square degree region located on the celestial equator that has been repeatedly imaged as part of the SDSS I and II programs. These individual scans have been co-added to create an imaging survey which is roughly two magnitudes deeper than the main SDSS survey. We use this increase in imaging depth to study the weak lensing cross correlation signal between optically selected foreground galaxy clusters and distant background galaxies. This study will provide an important bridge between cluster cross-correlation weak lensing in the SDSS main survey and the forthcoming Dark Energy Survey.
