SuperAGILE detects a flare from the binary source 3A 0114+650
Abstract
During the current AGILE pointing at the Cygnus region, on 2009 January 27th SuperAGILE detected enhanced X-ray emission from the slowly- spinning high mass X-ray binary pulsar 3A 0114+650 (a.k.a. 4U 0114+650). The source was detected at an average flux level of 110 mCrab (20-60 keV energy range) for a time period of three AGILE orbits (approximately 5 hours total) between 08:50 and 13:50 UT. In the past days the source was not detected by SuperAGILE on the orbital timescale.
