Mathematical Study of the Planar Oscillations of a Heavy, almost Homogeneous Liquid in a Container
Abstract
The authors study the planar small oscillations of a heavy almost homogeneous liquid partially filling an arbitrary container. The main object of the paper is to prove that the spectrum is real and decomposed in two parts: an essential spectrum which fills a bounded interval and a point spectrum formed by a sequence of eigenvalues, which tends to infinity.
