Polarization-transmissive photovoltaic film device consisting of an Si photodiode wire-grid
Abstract
This paper proposes a polarization-transmissive photovoltaic device, which consists of an Si photodiode wire-grid. Each nanowire is 400 nm in width, 50 µm in length and 5 µm in thickness. The nanowires are spaced 500 nm apart. The device transmits the light polarized in one direction and generates a photocurrent from the light polarized in the other direction. The fabricated device generates a 52 nA photocurrent from 250 µW incident light from a white lamp and achieved an extinction ratio of 4 for the 675 nm laser.
