Helicon Phonon Resonance in PbSe
Abstract
The helicon phonon resonance is observed for the first time in the regime of weakly interacting modes. Experiment is performed on a PbSe single crystal with carrier concentration N∼1019 cm-3. Excitation of the acoustic wave is observed as a resonant energy transfer dip on top of the fundamental helicon peak when acoustic and helicon wavelengths coincide. The results are in agreement with the theory of helicon phonon resonance.
