Vegetation Multispectral Imaging from Small Satellite with Daily Revisit
Abstract
Recent advancements on detectors, optics fabrication and metrology allow designing and manufacturing optical multispectral instruments for monitoring crops and vegetation, which are much more compact than the instruments from the previous generation. This allows to deploy on a small satellite a single stream mission that will perform observations comparable to the Vegetation instrument, flown on board of SPOT 4 and 5. The configuration presented in this paper is based on a standard platform developed by Verhaert Space, already flown for the PROBA (Project for On-Board Autonomy) projects, and on an innovative payload using three identical TMAs (Three Mirror Anastigmatic).
