A Miniaturized Laser Altimeter and Stereo Camera for a Microsatellite Formation Mission
Abstract
In the following we discuss the preliminary design of a highly integrated payload suite comprising a high resolution camera, an additional camera for stereoscopic imaging, and a single photon counting laser altimeter for integration into a microsatellite formation ight mission that is proposed jointly by the University of Tsinghua (China) and University of Technology Delft (The Netherlands) to y in 2011. Expected instrument performance for Earth observation is evaluated using the envisaged mission parameters. System requirements, mass and power budgets for the integration of the payload with the microsatellite bus are presented as well.
