Estudio del Cúmulo Abierto Collinder 220
Abstract
The paper reports the analysis of a particular region in Carina contining several interesting objects. Our study is based on our own UBVI photometric observations and on public data (2MASS infrared data and UCAC2 kinematic data). The main object of interest was the open cluster Cr 220. Our analysis suggests that the cluster might have similar characteristics to its surrounding field, but the possibility of it being a real object of ~100-200 Myr suffering differential reddening (0.15 < E(B-V) < 0.36) and located at about 3 kpc from the Sun, cannot be discarded. We have also estimated the mean proper motions associated to this object and computed the respective cluster and field luminosity functions.
