Inflatable greenhouse for orbital and far-space missions
Abstract
The space flights are wonderful accomplishments of our civilization But up to now man s flights have been limited to near Earth space The problem of man s lengthy stay in space is connected with the necessity for complex life-support system for the duration of man s existence in space Current lengthy space flights without continuous resources support from Earth are not possible The long-term living of man in space is possible with the use of closed self-regulating ecological system where man is one of the elements of the system as on the Earth The greenhouse project based on polymerization technology is proposed The future greenhouse construction has to satisfy to all requirements of stable self-regulated ecological life support system At the same time the environmental conditions in greenhouse must be corresponded to peculiarity of biological objects surviving in space flight The construction and material questions of space greenhouse are considered based on results of biological investigations in space flights together with modern space initiatives of space agencies
