Numerical Estimation of Pump Stations Effects Under Heavy Rainfall in Low-Lying Area Using Inundation Flow Analysis
Abstract
In this study, a comprehensive inundation flow model, which comprises one-dimensional unsteady flow model, two-dimensional inundation flow model and runoff model, is developed and applied to the Isahaya low-lying area, Japan. A numerical simulation using the observed rainfall data of 1999 is conducted, and good agreement between the simulation result and actual inundated area is obtained. Then, as the application example of this model, the effect by extending pump capacity on the inundated area is discussed by estimating the relationship between additional pump capacity and inundated area.
