Combustion of novel chemical mixtures for hydrogen generation

This communication reports novel chemical compositions for combustion-based generation of hydrogen, which can be used to feed fuel cells for emergency power supplies and portable electronics. In combination with chemical oxygen generators [1], the proposed mixtures could also be used in fuel-cell-based power supplies for space and underwater vehicles. In addition, combustion heat release from the proposed gas-generating compositions can be converted to electricity [2].
