Nonlinear processes in the foreshock turbulence
Abstract
Dynamical processes in foreshock turbulence are investigated using four point Cluster measurements. Time- domain multi-input single-output (MISO) modelling techniques are used to identify nonlinear processes in this turbulence. It is shown that both three wave and four wave processes are involved in the transfer of of energy between nonlinear structures of shocklets and whistler wave packets. It is also shown that cubic nonlinear processes affect the speed of nonlinear wave packets. Results obtained are compared with analytical models of foreshock turbulence.
