Behavior of anisotropy with distance variation from an in-situ multi-well observations of pumping test
Abstract
Estimation of anisotropy for a heterogeneous anisotropic aquifer is usually conducted using a pumping well with three observation wells. An alternative approach is rotated pumping among three wells, and observes from the other ones. However, for multi-well system, any three-observation wells selected arbitrarily yields different estimated results. This paper aims to acquire the representative anisotropic parameters for multi-well system, which was set in campus of Yuntech. A pumping test was carried out with constant flux rate and drawdown- time data was collected from ten observation wells. Results showed that anisotropic transmissivity in both x and y direction was varied with distance. The Magnitudes of anisotropic transmissivity principle direction were also varied with arbitrary three-observation wells.
