Mass Segregation Influence on Weighting Young Star Clusters
Abstract
Due to mass segregation, virial mass estimates of young star clusters can easily be biased by a factor of 2 within the first 100 Myrs of evolution. A full set of parameter space has been explored (total mass, Initial Mass Function, density, mass extend, stellar evolution, etc.) using a gas-dynamical model coupled with the Cambridge stellar evolution tracks. Observational implications are discussed.
