Performance of the Liquid Argon Final Calibration Board
Abstract
The 16 bit dynamic range signals from the ATLAS Liquid Argon calorimeter are read-out with a tri-gain 12bit linear front-end. It requires an accurate electronic calibration system in order to equalize the response of its 200,000 channels down to 0.25%, inter-calibrate the two gain ratios and correct for readout non-linearities at the per-mil level. This calibration system is now in the final state for production and consists of 130 boards, each with 128 pulse generators, uniform to 0.2% that generate fast pulses from 100 μV to 5 V with 0.1% amplitude accuracy.
