Full-color Ba 3MgSi 2O 8:Eu 2+, Mn 2+ phosphors for white-light-emitting diodes
Abstract
The Ba 3MgSi 2O 8:Eu 2+, Mn 2+ phosphors show three emission colors: blue band of 440 nm, green band of 505 nm and red band of 620 nm. The emission colors are tuned through concentration variation of luminescent centers in Ba 3MgSi 2O 8: mEu 2+, nMn 2+ phosphors. The white light color tuning is originated from the energy transfer among luminescent centers. The energy transfer is confirmed through the shortening lifetime of energy donor. Our full-color-emitting and color-tunable phosphors can be used in the application of white-light-emitting diode by the UV LED/phosphor technology.
