Thermal processes in the Solar System
Abstract
Along the history of the Solar System, thermal processes affected the bodies. The differentiation of a body in a nucleus, mantle and crust, as in the Earth, is the extreme case of this kind of processes. Mercury, the Moon, Venus and Mars have extensive features in the surfaces that show volcanic activity associated to differentiation. The asteroid (4) Vesta is the only big asteroid with basaltic surface. On the other hand, the asteroid (1) Ceres, bigger than Vesta, do not present a basaltic surface but a great quantity of ices. Which thermal processes affected that internal structures? In this work we discuss the thermal processes present in the Main Belt of asteroids. FULL TEXT IN SPANISH
