Bolometric absorption spectroscopy with narrow-band THz radiation
Abstract
We have developed a narrow-band source of millimeter-wave radiation (THz) for applications in absorption spectroscopy. This method allows us to scan over a continous range of frequencies from 0.2THz (λ=1.5mm) to 1.5THz (λ=0.2mm) with narrow-band THz-pulses (Q ∼ 6). With our new technique we will perform bolometric absorption measurements using the sample as bolometer. A similar technique employing microwave radiation [1] has revealed important informations on several superconducting materials. With our new technique we expand the frequency range of study into the THz-domain.
