The Polyhedral Representation of Hypersurfaces for Intramolecular Rearrangements:. Application to the Icosahedral H ⊗ 2h Jahn-Teller Surface
Abstract
The polyhedral representation is introduced as a new way to depict intramolecular rearrangements. In this representation the reaction graph is embedded on the appropriate 2D closed manifold. The resulting structure is capable of visualizing spatial relationships. As an illustration we apply this technique to obtain 2D representations of the 5D hypersurface, which describes the Jahn-Teller distortions of a fivefold degeneracy.
