The INTEGRAL Mission
Abstract
INTEGRAL, (INTErnational Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Lab oratory) is an astronomical satellite for observing the gamma-ray sky. It was launched in October, 2002. The use of INTEGRAL is planned for 2 years with a possible extension for up to 5 years. The INTEGRAL spacecraft features 4 instruments: a gamma ray spectrometer, a gamma ray imager, two X-ray monitors and an optical monitoring camera.
