Simultaneous decameter radio observations
Abstract
Ground-based radio telescopes of Kharkov (Ukraine) and Nancay (France) have been used to provide simultaneous and time synchronized observations of Jovian as well as solar decametric radio emission. Several measurements campaigns have been performed with the digital spectropolarimeter (DSP) and the waveform receiver (WFR) yielding high spectral resolution. Specific emphasis was laid on the GPS synchronized observations aiming towards the determination of local influences due to different ionospheric conditions. Corresponding results are evaluated and possible implications for a giant radio telescope as the Low Frequency Array (LOFAR)are addressed.
