Magnetic Resonance in the CeMIn5 Materials
Abstract
The In(1) nucleus in the CeMIn5 materials experiences an anisotropic hyperfine interaction with the four nearest neighbor Ce spins, which allows one to probe the low frequency dynamics of the lattice of Ce spins by In NMR. We find that at high temperatures the Kondo interaction with the conduction electrons dominates the Ce spin dynamics, and at lower temperatures interactions between the Ce spins dominate the spin dynamics. The spin lattice relaxation data suggest 3D fluctuations in the antiferromagnet CeRhIn_5, and 2D fluctuations in the superconductor CeCoIn_5.
