Photoionization of two-electron ortho-atoms
Abstract
We present a numerical study to explore the influence of Pauli's exclusion principle in two-electron ionization. Based on numerical simulations of the time-dependent Schroedinger equation for the interaction of laser light with a one-dimensional model for the helium atom, we analyse the different ionization of para-helium and ortho-helium. The symmetry character of the wavefunction affects the dynamics of ionization in the interaction with a laser pulse. In the high frecuency case that we review, the symmetry of the orthohelium prevents the ionization hardly than in the parahelium case.
