Tanaka Dissertation Award Talk: Low Energy Neutrino Cross Sections: Past, Present, and an Improved Future
Abstract
Atmospheric and accelerator-based neutrino programs both require precise knowledge of neutrino cross sections in the few GeV range. Large uncertainties in existing neutrino cross section measurements in this energy region have fueled a renewed interest in this topic. This talk discusses the possibilities for improvement in the context of recent results from the K2K near detector, expected results from MiniBooNE, and plans for future proposed experiments.
