Energy and projectile-mass dependence of light-ion potentials^*
Abstract
Volume integrals per nucleon pair of light-ion (A≤4) elastic scattering real potentials available in literature were calculated. Plotted as a function of energy per nucleon of the projectiles, they show a logarithmic dependence on the energy. The zero crossing for the transition from attractive to repulsive occurs at about the same energy per nucleon ( ∼600 MeV/A) for all projectiles. The volume integral decreases as the mass of the projectile increases, possibly due to Pauli blocking effect in the projectile. The proton-rich projectile has a larger volume integral than the neutron-rich one of the same mass, due to the isospin component of the nuclear central potential.
