Effective Field Theory for Nuclear Phsyics
Abstract
We review recent efforts in applying the effective theory method to systems of two or more nucleons. Contrary to chiral perturbation theory in the meson and the one baryon sector, the low energy expansion is non-perturbative, as evidenced by the existence of bound states. As a consequence, large anomalous dimensions and cycles in the renormalization group flow appear. We will discuss the attempts at deriving a consistent power counting and some applications to low energy elastic and inelastic processes of current interest.
