Penetration of energetic solar particles into the Earth s orbit in the presence of a interplanetary shock wave
Abstract
The events of energetic solar particle increase by measurements on the spacecraft INTERBALL-2 are analyzed. Particular attention has been given to the dynamics of energetic solar particles near an interplanetary shock wave formed by the coronal mass ejection. Based on the comparison of calculated and measured solar energetic particle fluxes, the characteristics of their propagation in interplanetary space are determined. Two variants of solar energetic particle propagation in large-scale solar wind disturbances are considered.
