XMM-Newton observation of L1641 starforming region
Abstract
We have observed L1641 starforming region with XMM-Newton observatory for 50 ks. L1641 is located in the southern part of the Orion A giant molecular cloud, which includes Class 0/I protostars. Although the X-ray emission from Class I protostars (age105 yrs) is now well known, we have little knowledge about the X-ray emission from Class 0 protostars at a much earlier stage (age104 yrs). The main purpose of this observation is to investigate whether Class 0 protostars in L1641 emit X-ray or not. We report the first results of this observation.
