Evidence for the long period oscillations in the equatorial Ionization anomaly with the zonal neutral wind in the equatorial mesosphere
Abstract
The day-to-day variations of the foF2 values in the Equatorial Ionization Anomaly (Sumedang 6.90 S, 107.50E) are studied in both temporal and frequency domain. Then, the long period (2-20 days) oscillations that appeared in the Equatorial Ionization Anomaly are compared with the occuring planetary-scale waves in the neutral wind in the equatorial mesosphere observed at Pontianak (0.03N, 109.33E) that is located at nearly the same longitude as Sumedang. This paper attempts to compare the two kinds of oscillations that were observed at just the same time and and at nearly the same longitude.
