Application of Gis Technology For The State of Marine Ecosystems Assessment.
Abstract
The marine resources management and planning of different human activities in the seas often come across the necessity of taxation and zoning of the aquatic areas. It is very often, when researcher have available only the literary data, presented as a maps of different parameters of the environment. Heterogeniety of data dictate the necessity of their normalization and reduction to a common system of indexes with the help of different methods of multivariate statistic. GIS technology allow to construct the integrated table of data, interpolated uniformly over the area, that can be the basis of the further estimations. The cartograhpic data base, consisting of 50 maps of differ- ent physiographic, hydrologo-hydochemical and biological parameters of the Caspian Sea, was constructed with the help of SArcviewT. The integrated table of data, inter- & cedil;
polated to each 10S square of grid chart, was composed on the base of this material. The indexes, characterizing the complexity, vulnerability and stability of each square were estimated and the results are discussed.- Publication:
