An Analisis On Z-r Relattionship For Rainfall Measurements In Bulgaria

An automated radar system has been constructed in Bulgaria on the base of meteoro- logical radar MRL-5. The rainfall measurements are carrying out, using known Z-R relationship (Z = 200 * R ** 1.6). A competitive analysis was applied between the experimentally collected rainfall data from the meteorological stations and the radar data. The preliminary statistical values of the parameters in the Z-R relationship have been obtained for the winter and summer seasons in X and S bands, using an itera- tional approach. It has been shown that application of this iterational method improves the accuracy of the rainfall measurement.
