a Scissors-Like State on Top of the Quadrupole Vibrational State in 88SR
Abstract
A nuclear resonance fluorescence experiment on the spherical N = 50 nucleus 88Sr has been performed with bremsstrahlung of 6.7 MeV endpoint energy using two EUROBALL CLUSTER detectors. Dipole excitations observed in the energy region 4.5 MeV ≤ Ex ≤ 5.5 MeV are proposed to be scissors-like excitations on top of the dynamically deformed quadrupole vibrational state.
