Chiral Model Calculations of Nuclear Matter and Finite Nuclei
Abstract
We discuss an approach modelling hadrons and nuclear matter on the basis of chiral symmetry. The masses of the hadrons are generated via spontaneous symmetry breaking. The equations are then used to calculate properties of nuclear matter and finite nuclei. The model includes the strangeness degree of freedom, enabling us to investigate hypernuclei. Some numerical results in comparison with experiment are presented.
