Many-body corrections in magneto-emission spectra of quantum wells with a 2D electron gas
Abstract
We present emission spectra in magnetic field for quantum wells containing a 2D electron gas. They show both (allowed) diagonal transitions and (disorder-induced) off-diagonal transitions between conduction and valence band Landau levels. The transition intensities depend on temperature and Landau level filling factor. The spacing of direct emission transitions deviates from the sum of electron and hole cyclotron energies due to initial state electron-hole and final state electron-electron interactions. We show how to measure separately the two kinds of corrections using energy spacings between direct and indirect transitions, opening a new way to compare with theory.
