Charged Hadron Spectra from √s_NN = 130 GeV at RHIC
Abstract
The transverse mass spectra of identified hadrons have been studied as a function of rapidity for central Au+Au collisions using the STAR detector facility at RHIC. The pions, kaons, and protons have been identified using gas dE/dx versus momentum as measured in the central TPC. The spectra have been fit to extract temperatures and yields (dN/dY). The dN/dy distributions as a function of y will be studied with the aim to determine the magnitude of the longitudinal flow at RHIC energies. These will be compared to previously measured values at SPS and AGS energies.
