Visible and Near Infrared Atlas of the Arcturus Spectrum 3727-9300 A
Abstract
A spectral atlas of the K III star Arcturus is presented based on R~150000 CCD observations extending from 3727 to 9300 Angstroms. The observations were made with the Coude Feed telescope on Kitt Peak with the spectrograph in the Echelle mode. The signal-to-noise ratio of the spectra is typically ~1000. The spectra have been corrected for telluric absorption lines. Each of the 307 atlas pages contains the spectrum of Arcturus and a similarly corrected solar flux spectrum. At wavelengths longer than 5000 Angstroms the atmospheric transmission spectrum is also shown. Suggested identifications for the spectral lines are marked on the atlas pages. A CD-ROM, provided with each atlas, contains the data in a variety of formats suitable for use with IRAF and IDL. The atlas also contains a detailed discussion of the echelle reduction process.
