Breakdown of the IQHE in InSb/InAlSb Quantum Wells
Abstract
The breakdown of the integer quantum Hall effect is quantified in InSb/InAlSb quantum wells by measuring critical currents and fields at which the sample resistance exceeds 5resulted in phase diagrams resembling those of the phenomenological Gorter-Casimir model for superconductivity. Our InSb studies show that this behavior is not universal, rather our results can be interpreted as the result of Coulomb gap dominated transport, as is to be expected for a material with such large spin and cyclotron gaps.
