High Pressure Experiments on Lithium Fluoride: Equation of State and Reflectance
Abstract
We have used high intensity lasers to strongly shock lithium fluoride, which is often used as a high-strength window in shock experiments. We determined the density and pressure of the shocked state and measured the reflectivity of the shocked LiF. We will present shocked pressure-density measurements. We will also present results of the transparency of the LiF as a function of pressure into the Mbar regime.
