Proton Fine Structure Decay from ^146Tm
Abstract
In a series of experiments at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility (HRIBF) studying proton emission from ^146Tm, we have observed three new proton peaks. From information on their half-lives, we preliminarily conclude that they arise from both previously known proton-emitting isomers (Ep = 1119 keV; T_1/2=235 ms and Ep = 1189 keV; T_1/2=72 ms) [1] of this nuclide. Preliminary values of the new proton transitions are 880(10) keV and 934(7) keV arising from the shorter-lived isomer, and 1032(7) from the longer-lived one. Details of the relevant nuclear structure will be discussed. [1]. K. Livingston, et al., Phys. Lett. B 312, 46 (1993)
