Pressure-supported cosmic structure formation: analytical schemes beyond the `adhesion approximation'

In this talk we elucidate how the `adhesion model' for large-scale structure can be justified physically, and introduce a new class of analytical models which emerge by linking our notion of `adhesion' with Lagrangian perturbation theory.
