Applications of Hyperpolarized Noble Gas NMR in Materials Science and Condensed Matter Physics
Abstract
Hyperpolarized noble gas NMR is a powerful new tool for probing porous media (e.g., rocks, lungs, and granular materials) through measurements of restricted gas diffusion and flow; for studying two-phase gas-liquid dynamics and critical phenomena; and for investigating persistence in stochastic processes. I will discuss the research activities of my group and collaborators in these areas.
