Continued Investigation into the High Spin States of the π h11/2 Rotational Band Structure of ^131La.
Abstract
As part of an ongoing study into the high-spin, Coriolis distorted states in the odd-mass and odd-odd nuclei, we continued to study the yrast π h11/2 rotational band structure of ^131La. After transitions in the yrast π h11/2 band were determined using both standard gating techniques from the HRIBF γ-ray analysis software and the FFT noise reduction technique to enhance low-intensity, high-spin transitions, it was determined that further analysis into higher spin states above 39/2 could be made. A mathematical fit routine was implemented. Projections were made both to determine higher spin state transition energies and to investigate the Coriolis Effect with respect to the B coefficient. Findings from this evaluation justifies further analysis into spin states greater than 39/2. Comparisons will be made between ^131La and ^129La.
